This Diablo 4 Skill Trees guide will serve as a checklist to help you keep track of what your class can and can not do. There are five different classes, and each one can do vastly different things.

What Are Skills And What Do They Do

Skills are actions you can perform as you're in a fight. In addition to letting you perform certain actions but in order to perform a skill, you have to equip it and manually activate it. It's also worth noting that skills are also tied to your weapons. So if you want to switch to a weapon in your inventory, make sure you have the proper skill to use it.

What Are Passives And What Do They Do

Passive Skills work similarly to normal skills. You'll need to spend Skill Points to unlock them, but you can tell them apart from normal skills by checking if they have a skill name next to them. For example, one Barbarian core skill is called Double Swing, and next to the skill, you'll see Core written right next to it, while one passive skill is called Endless Fury, and it doesn't have anything written next to it.

Another big difference between them is that you don't need to press anything to activate a passive skill. Once they're unlocked, the passive skill will always be put into motion

Barbarian Skills and Abilities

Weapon Mastery Skills

Throw out a trio of chains that deal damage and draw distant enemies close to you. Has 2 charges.Attempt a killing blow that deals massive damage to enemies in front of you. If a target is killed, the cooldown will immediately reset.Skewer enemies in front of you with a slashing weapon, dealing damage plus their total Bleeding amount and removing all current bleeding effects from them.
Ultimate Skills
Wrath of the BerserkerIron MaelstromCall of the Ancients
Gain a Berserking effect to increase damage and movement speed, and an Unstoppable effect from control-impairing effects. While active, additional basic attacks also cause Berserking.Attach chains to each of your weapon for a total of three effects. The first activation slams your two-handed bludgeoning weapon into the ground and stuns enemies. The second activation swipes your two-handed slashing weapon across all enemies in front of you to deal bleeding over time. Ultimate Skills
InfernoDeep FreezeUnstable Currents
Ignite a roaring inferno that pulses in and out of the target location, burning for several seconds and then exploding, dealing fire damage over time, and additional damage to those at the outer edge.Encase yourself in ice, becoming immune to damage and effects for several seconds. You will continually chill enemies while encased, and upon expiration, Deep Freeze will explode any frozen enemies. Casting Deep Freeze again can end the effect early.Lightning surges within you for several seconds. During this time, whenever a Lightning skill is cast, another random non-basic Lightning skill is also cast.

Subterfuge Skills

Throw a smoky concoction that dazes enemies, rendering them unable to attack or use skills.Surround yourself with five Dark Shadows, gaining Damage Reduction for each active Shadow. Shadows are removed each time instead of taking direct damage.Place a trap that arms after a moment, and when stepped on by an enemy will release a poison cloud, damaging all enemies in its area of effect over time.Vanish from sight, gaining Stealth and become Unstoppable from control-imparing effects, while gaining movement speed and able to pass through enemies. Below you'll find what the Necromancer can do.

Basic Skills
Bone SplintersReapHemorrhageDecompose
Fire 3 bones splinters dealing 6 - 7 damage each. Each subsequent time an enemy is hit by the same cast of Bone Splinters, you gain 1 Essence. Sweep an ethereal scythe in front of you, dealing 3 - 4 damage. Hitting an enemy with Reap increases your Damage Reduction by 15% for 2 seconds.Burst an enemy's blood, dealing 6 - 8 damage. Hemorrhage has a 20% chance to form a Blood Orb.Tear the flesh from an enemy, dealing 9 damage per second and forming a usable Corpse with the flesh every 2.5 seconds.
