The next section of the Minecraft guide contains blueprints for the construction of tools used to purchase raw materials, weapons, thanks to which you will be able to defend yourself from the dangers of the world, as well as armor that will protect you from further injury. Almost any tool can be made of a variety of materials, from wood to stone or diamond. Tools also can be enchanted to increase their durability and grant them other properties.

Annotation: gold tools tend to be more powerful / more effective than diamond ones! However, they have a very low durability (about half of what wooden tools have!) and wears out at an alarming rate. The best option are iron tools that ensure they perform all tasks and balance production cost, mining speed and durability. That doesn't concern armor that are right after second after leather ones and much worse than iron.

Tools can be repaired by combining two into one using an Anvil; you can also repair it using the raw material that is in the tool head. In addition, you have a chance to get increased durability as a result of such connection (for example, 2 pickaxes with 40% strength can create an object with 85% strength after repair). During repair, you cannot combine two different types of tools. If you exceed the strength of the summed items by more than 100%, it is lost.

You can retrieve some percent of the used weapon's worth: burn a used pickaxe or other weapon in a furnace to retrieve an iron / gold nugget.

Pickaxe

Pickaxe is the basic mining tool. It is used to mine for hard blocks and ores. Some of the ores, like e.g. diamonds cannot be obtained with a low-class tool - they require using, at least the iron head. instead of boards you can use: cobblestone, iron, gold, diamonds.

Axe

Axe is used to chop down trees, and also to destroy blocks of processed wood (e.g. chests, boards, stairs). Instead of boards, you can use: cobblestone, iron, gold, diamonds.

Hoe

A Hoe is necessary if you want to prepare soil for cultivation. Instead of boards, you can also use: cobblestone, iron, gold, diamonds.

Shovel

The shovel is not necessary however, you can easier destroy the softer blocks, like e.g. dirt or sand with it. Instead of boards you can use: cobblestone, iron, gold, diamonds.

Sword

The Sword is, along with the bow, the basic kind of weapon. Depending of the material of which it was made, the damage it deals varies. Instead of boards you can use: cobblestone, iron, gold, diamonds.

Shield

Use planks and an iron nugget to create a shield that you can place in your other hand. Activating it protects you from injury.

Arrow

Arrows are required if you want to use the bow. They are also used by a crossbow and a dispenser. In earlier versions of the game, arrows were irretrievable - now you can pick them up when they don't hit the target (player / moba / NPC).

Spectral Arrow

When using Glowstone Dust and arrows, you get ammunition, which places a special effect upon the enemy. Within 10 seconds, the enemy will be surrounded by a bright halo, which makes it easy to track him: this is useful, for example, during the fight against teleporting Endermans.

Tipped Arrow

These are special arrows that get the effect of the potion used on them. One potion is enough for 8 arrows that you will use for crafting.

Crossbow

When assembling the crossbow you need: sticks, string, iron nugget, and Tipwire Hook. A crossbow works just like a bow and requires a shot to work, however: it can't fire until it's loaded, shoots hard but slow, can be enchanted, and is also able to shoot fireworks.

The basic long-range weapon.

Boots

Boots are the smallest piece of the armor. Instead of leather you can use: iron, gold, diamonds.

Leggings

A piece of the armor. Instead of leather you can use: iron, gold, diamonds.

Helmet

Element of the armor. Instead of leather you can use: iron, gold, diamonds.

Chestplate

The largest piece of armor. Instead of leather you can use: iron, gold, diamonds.

Turtle Shell

This is a special helmet that you create from the Scute, dropped by adult turtles. The only thing better than this is a diamond helmet. Compared to the iron helmet, it is more durable.

Lead

Thanks to this, you can catch an animal and take it to your pen. You can also tie them to e.g. the fence, to prevent it from running away.

Shears

They can be used to acquire wool from sheep, Mooshroom from cows and while picking e.g. leaves from trees.

Flint and Steel

Using Flint and Steel you can start fire in the spot of your choice, using the action button. You need Flint and iron - you will find flint when digging gravel. Of course, you will not set fire with it to anything you want: the fire will appear, but after a while it will disappear from an incombustible surfaces. You can set fire to, for example, wood or hay. Flint wears down.

Fishing Rod

With the fishing rod you can catch fish. you can also use it on any mob to pull it towards yourself.

Carrot on a Stick

This combination can be used for leading pigs. Using the PPM during the ride (in order to be able to ride, you need a saddle on the pig), depletes carrot's durability (after destroying it you get the rod back).

Clock

It indicates the current part of the day.

Compass

Indicates the spawn point for the player. Does not work in other dimensions, does not show any point.

Bucket

It is used for carrying lava and water, but also to obtain and store milk obtained from the cow.

Map

You can review there the currently generated map.

Mucus block

After killing Slimes, they drop Slimeballs. Use 9 to create a Slime Block. Use it as a springboard and to create a "piston engine" (custom design). The block is joined by other blocks that can be pushed together.
