Holy Paladin Best In Slot WotLK Phase 2 (2024)

Holy Paladins are one of the top healing specs for Wrath of the Lich King Classic. They are the strongest Tank healer in the game and also provide excellent raid healing as well as powerful cooldowns. This is evident in the number of parses logged with the top guilds always having a Holy Paladin in their raid comp, sometimes even 2 for fights that require multiple tanks. To be the very best healer in the raid to push progression in Ulduar players will want to equip the Best in Slot (BiS) gear that can be equipped in the second content phase of Wrath classic.

Best Head For Holy Paladin In WotLK Phase 2

The strength of the Tier 7 4-piece set bonus is so powerful that players will only want to switch when they have acquired multiple Tier 8 set pieces. Additionally, the Tier 8 4-piece set bonus is also so strong that having individually stronger pieces is not worth breaking the 4-pc set bonus. (The only slot not wearing T8 will be the chest, as it doesn't have the best stat itemization)

Plenty of good options here that aren't going to be contested by other casters and don't bother with the Emblem necklace.

Some items are individually stronger than the tier piece but the Tier 7 4-piece set bonus and Tier 8 4-piece bonus mean players will not want to break the set bonus with this slot.

The top option is not a very contested one and is only a minor upgrade from the previous phases Pennant Cloak.

Best Chest For Holy Paladin In WotLK Phase 2

The chest slot is the only slot that players should equip a non-teir to maintain the T8 set bonus. The tier piece (Conqueror's Aegis Tunic) has the worst stat allocation out of the 5 pieces, so any of these options would be better. If luck on drops is bad for obtaining the tier set bonus the tier chest is ok to use for the set bonus alone.

The BiS Bracer slot is only going to be contested by resto shamans but the second option will be uncontested and is easy to obtain.

The tier option is the best here to achieve the set bonus. The 3rd option is Best in Slot for almost every caster so it's better to go with tier, while the 4th is really only used if your luck has been bad.

The top ring is going to be contested by basically every class for the quest reward. The remaining are also going to be highly contested by other casters too.

Many players will have Darkmoon Card: Greatness and it will continue to be good in this Phase. Meteorite Crystal will replace Figurine - Sapphire Owl and continue to be the best trinket through ICC. Show of Faith is also going to be highly contested by other healers as well.

Best Weapon For Holy Paladin In WotLK Phase 2

The Legendary hammer is the best for any caster that can wield maces but is best used for healers for the proc effect. It's going to be BiS for the remained of the expansion as well, but will take some time getting it. Equip one of the other options here if you are lucky that no one else has priority on these items. Grabbing the PvP Mace is another option that doesn't take away loot from anyone else.

It's best to equip a shield as only Resto Shamans are going to be contesting you for them, plus most of the off-hands are going to have hit or spirit and be highly contested.

The ilvl 200 libram purchased with emblems of heroism is the best libram for the entire expansion. It's simply not worth mentioning the other options.

Best Gems For Holy Paladin In Phase 2 - Ulduar

Be sure to replace a Brilliant Autumn's Glow with the new fishing daily epic gem Brilliant Stormjewel. They are not soulbound so players can also purchase them at the auction house. Holy Paladins will want to focus on getting the following gems for each individual socket type:

Meta Gem Socket

• Insightful Earthsiege Diamond

The mana-restoring proc gem still holds up as the BiS Meta Gem, typically players will want to use a Dazzling Forest Emerald and a Luminous Monarch Topaz to activate the effect.

Red Socket

• Luminous Monarch Topaz

Only use a single orange gem in a Red Socket (ideally one with a socket bonus of Spell Power or Haste) in order to activate the meta gem.

Blue Socket

• Dazzling Forest Emerald

Only use a single green gem in a Blue Socket (ideally one with a socket bonus of Spell Power or Haste) in order to activate the meta gem.

Yellow Socket

• Brilliant Dragon's Eye x3 (Jeweler's Gem)
• Brilliant Stormjewel x1 (Fishing Daily)
• Brilliant Autumn's Glow

Use the Pure Intellect Yellow Gems and ignore the socket bonuses for the remainder of your sockets.

Best Enchants For Holy Paladin In Phase 2 - Ulduar

The list below shows which enchants players will want to use for their Holy Paladins. These will likely be the same from Phase 1. Head and Shoulder enchants can be found via Reputation and the rest are from the professions (Enchanting, Leatherworking, and Blacksmithing) and can often be found at the Auction House. Some professions provide a better option that is Exclusive to the character that has the profession and should be used instead of the other options.
