G.SKILL International Enterprise Co., Ltd. is excited to announce the MD2 mid-tower PC case, a stylish ATX case designed for high-performance builds, featuring a sleek front panel design. Available in black or white, the MD2 mid-tower case is designed for versatile cooling options, a spacious interior, and comes with a 4 mm tempered-glass side panel to show off the internal system hardware.

The MD2 case front panel design is inspired by the S-curves of race tracks and incorporates side vents for improved airflow to keep internal components cool. The front panel RGB lighting is designed with a spring-loaded contact, in place of wiring, for easy removal and easy access during front fan installation or cleaning the front magnetic filter.

Versatile Cooling Options
The roomy interior of the MD2 case offers a multitude of cooling configuration options to help keep internal components stay cool, with space for up to 7 case fans along the front, top, and rear of the case, or simultaneously up to two 360 mm water-cooling radiators.

Spacious Interior Design
Designed to accommodate high-end hardware components, the MD2 case supports graphics cards of up to 395 mm in length and supports CPU air coolers of up to 170 mm in height. The MD2 case also offers ample storage drive installation options with up to two 2.5" SSD mounts and two convertible 2.5"/3.5" drive bays.

A decent PR for a case, the images are actually useful for once.

The only question I have is how airflow is with that front panel.

yikes their first case is a solid front OVEN case, not inspiring

Agreed. I love me some G.Skill memory but this case looks like an airflow catastrophe. At least the white version is 99% white. I'll give them that.

Not just chocked off front panel but there are whole bunch of other issues, it seems like GSkill is sourcing it from same factory that makes these cheap cases for whole host of other "manufacturers".

Looks like a regular *insert cheap brand* case, something like Gamdias which is sh*t tier. Better to release nothing at all if you're going this route G.Skill...

"Airflow"...hummmm...whahdatiz ? /s

As for the renders, they forgot/missed the one showing the front I/O panel , and zero mention of it in the description either....wonder why :)

But, anyways, it's still just ANUTHA same ole same same, boring AF, no-design-effort-at-all rectangular boxen of yesteryear, just like the other 127,395.43 already announced in the last 4 years or so :(

clearly this case is using the quantum airflow technique co-developed by NZXT and MSI in the early 2000s

Cool case, but can G.Skill work with other vendors to integrate their RGB software first.

#9
maxfly

Yup, just another ugly hotbox. Fire the design team and start over from scratch.

Rookie mistake, Steve from Gamers Nexus will not be pleased with this design.

Not enough if you're spending that much money on a case. This airflow design has been tried again and again but it never works. There are going to be many many people who get a Nvidia 4000 series and then find out how bad their case really is. Might be a good time to buy up the stock of all mesh cases.

What hotbox, do you see the front 3x120 and top 2x120 rad. this is sub 40C on the 4000 series. Otherwise nothing a dremel can't fix .

Just buy two and a PCIE riser cable and mount the GPU in it's own hot box tied together with shoe lace technology the more you buy the more you save. :fear:

Hi,
Matches their memory

Except trident-z would be much nicer.

#14
InVasMani

At least it wasn't bedazzled to look like the Trident royal DIMM's. It could've been worse on cooling and curb appeal.

Look I think it is very stylish, but this appears to be style over substance. Owning the Phanteks P500A with excellent airflow and with tuned fans it's very quiet I could never go back to something with a solid front, even though it looks great. Also no mention at all of the front I/O so I'll assume it's the usual tripe that plagues so many otherwise nice cases.

ir_cow

This looks like the Phanteks or BeQuite Case, but without the name on it.

Non existent ventilation! My favorite!!!
