There is something exciting about reaching the milestone of the 100th day of school. For me, it’s a time for celebrating that I have survived 100 working days with a class full of little people!

As we daily count the days of school, the students get increasingly excited as we near the 100th day. To my Pre-Primaries, 100 is a magic number, there is some kind of awe towards that special number. So of course, we spend the 100th day of school celebrating. The ideas and activities you can do are endless, but below I will summarise some of my favourite 100th day of school activities.

Getting Started

To fully prepare yourself for the 100th day of school, you need to get organised on day one. You need a way to count the days of school. There are dozens of different ways to do this, but I use a 100 Days of School Chart to record each school day. This is one of our morning jobs and the children love to take turns being the counter.

Every morning we write a number on the chart, starting from one and working our way up. The best thing about this chart is that it goes all the way up to 300 days so that you can continue counting for the entire school year. Instead of writing numbers on the chart, you can simply place a sticker to indicate that many days have passed – this can lead to a good lesson in subitising!

AgeBooth App

This activity is one of my all time favourite 100th day of school activities that I do each year. You will need to download the AgeBooth app (or something similar) onto your phone or iPad. You simply take a photo of someone and the app converts the image to look super old! I complete the whole process on my iPad and have it AirPlayed to the interactive screen so the children can watch as we go.

I always begin with a photo of myself – the kids always think it’s hilarious! Then I repeat with any other adults in the room. We then convert each student’s photo one-by-one on the screen. I don’t make them participate if they don’t want to, some children just like to watch and don’t really want to be laughed at!

I save each image as we go to make the super fun display like displayed below. If you would like to receive the FREE editable template for this display and instructions on how to use the app, then make sure you click the link below. This is available exclusively to email subscribers only.
